Have You Been Affected By The AT&T Data Breach?
The sensitive information belonging to millions of AT&T's current and former customers has recently been discovered on the "dark web". In their announcement on March 30th, AT&T confirmed that a dataset found on a hacking forum contains personal information such as Social Security numbers for about 7.6 million current customers and 65.4 former account holders.
Although it varies by each customer and account, the information involved in this breach included Social Security numbers, pass codes, full names, email addresses, mailing addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, and AT&T account numbers
Consumers impacted by this breach should be receiving an email or letter directly from AT&T about the incident. The email notices began going out Saturday, March 30th.
If you have received a letter, email, or other notification from AT&T notifying you that your data, or the data of a loved one, was compromised you may be eligible for compensation. AT&T had a duty to safeguard your sensitive personal information and has violated state and federal consumer protection laws by failing to do so.
